Data Dimensions' history began in March of 1974 when Walter L. Bush recognized the need for a quality data capture service bureau in the Midwest and founded W.L. Bush Company.
In July of 1982, the company was reorganized in Elkhorn, Wisconsin as Data Dimensions Corporation. The company initially specialized in retail department store inventory processing and the design development of software programs to serve the retail industry. Our history shows our continued growth, not only in number of our facilities, but also in the expansion of our service offerings, ensuring a long, successful future for Data Dimensions, a second-generation family-owned company.
Our company's five facilities are strategically located to offer the most rapid and efficient service to our clients, ensuring a redundant environment. In 1985, Data Dimensions' operations moved from Elkhorn to Janesville, Wisconsin, just 90 minutes from Chicago, Illinois or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Data Dimensions continued to grow and in 1988, we opened a second processing facility in Clinton, Iowa, 40 minutes from the Quad Cities.
In 1991, our Chairman, Mark Bush, saw the need for cost-competitive data capture services in a closed labor market and opened Home Entry Services (HES) in Janesville, Wisconsin. We developed a workflow solution that taps into an extensive at home work force of highly knowledgeable and skilled data capture operators. Today, HES is under Data Dimensions' family of businesses.
Data Dimensions introduced a records management solution to our industry in 1997 with the opening of our Records Management Center in Janesville.
In 1999, we doubled the size of our Clinton facility.
2004, our corporate headquarters relocated to a new 40,000 square foot facility with room for additional, future service capabilities.
The year 2009 was an extremely busy year with several initiatives, including the acquisition of our long valued partner, Olim, and the construction of our Tier III Data Center and operations facility in Janesville, Wisconsin. Completed in 2010, the 20,000 square feet facility, capable of withstanding an F5 tornado, provides an infrastructure composed of multiple active power and cooling distribution paths, concurrently maintainable to safeguard mission critical data.
Today, the face of our industry is ever-changing and presenting new challenges. To meet these challenges, Data Dimensions continues to expand their competitive service offerings. We serve a wide variety of industries and by using state-of-the-art technology, we provide a virtual front end in which functionality is expanded as our client's business develops.
